The role on offer is that of a Home Staging Install Agent. This role is needed for weekend shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and one other weekday. There’s scope for more hours but availability post 3pm on weekdays is necessary.
The role fundamentally entails moving furniture with a small bit of interior design involved, for which training will be provided. The furniture must be neatly packed for home staging, loaded into a van, and transported to a particular house within a 50-mile range. The furniture must also be arranged in the new house according to provided pictures. It’s not traditional heavy furniture but light staging furniture which is more like props.
This role necessitates the ability to lift up to 50lbs, be capable of moving lightweight furniture upstairs, coordination with a partner while arranging furniture in a house, and the ability to drive a cargo van. The task list features packing the accessories, ensuring they are packed neatly for transport, understanding the best packing methods for loading the furniture into the van.
Team coordination is essential, communicating quickly to arrange a house, notifying the leadership about damaged inventory or house issues, and adjusting the furniture according to the stylist’s needs. Apart from packing, driving the cargo van is also necessary, this can include distances up to 50 miles in one direction, ability to parallel park in city environments, and safe navigation through busy city traffic.
Arranging the furniture in the house according to reference pictures is also part of the job, understanding when the furniture doesn’t look right or functional in a house, and hanging pictures and mirrors. The employment starts immediately, offering 20-30 hours per week, the hourly rate is between $18-20, depending on experience and ability to drive. More pay could become available with a rise in duties such as accurately matching photos to decorate a house or doing warehouse maintenance.
Ideal candidates will have some job experience. A background check will be conducted and no felony convictions are allowed.
