Showhomes San Diego, part of a longstanding national home staging company, is looking for someone to support their rapidly expanding business in the north coast San Diego area. They are particularly looking for individuals who can assist in selling luxury homes by enhancing their aesthetic appeal. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable driving a 16ft and 26ft box truck, working well with a design team, loading and unloading furniture, and placing furniture in homes to support stagers/designers and professional movers.

Attention to detail when loading and unloading with consideration to limiting damage and breakage is essential. The individual will need to be familiar with correct lifting techniques and other safety measures. The position requires the individual to be physically active, being able to stand for several hours, lift a minimum of 50lbs, and ascend a 15ft ladder.

Experience of having driven a 16ft FORD E350 and 26ft HINO Diesel box trucks is crucial. The potential hire will need to possess reliable transportation, car insurance, a valid California driver’s license with a clean record. Good customer service skills are vital, as is the ability to communicate with customers and Showhomes staff in a professional manner.

Following complex daily itineraries and verbal directions from Showhomes staff accurately will be part of daily routine. The candidate must be competent in handling driving to multiple pick-ups in one day and arrive punctually at job sites, while finding addresses easily using a GPS on a smartphone.

Those who own an SUV or pickup with a trailer hitch and have experience driving a 10ft trailer, along with general handyman/repair experience, would be looked upon favorably.

Other requirements include a minimum of 3-5 years experience as a professional mover, being physically fit to lift heavy loads, possess reliable transportation and insurance, good customer service, and ability to use Google Maps, Google Drive, StageForce Inventory App, Workforce, and other necessary smart phone apps efficiently.

Pay rate ranges from $20.00 – $25.00 per hour, dependent upon experience. The work hours are part-time at 20 to 30 hours per week, primarily Monday – Friday with occasional weekend hours. The work weeks can vary according to workload and seasonal demands. Drug Test is mandatory prior to employment.
