Decorus Home Staging is on the hunt for a Design Manager. This firm specializes in elevating the appeal of luxury properties across Seattle and the Eastside. The Design Manager role is a leadership position. It calls for an interior design professional who can instantly comprehend the unique qualities of a home and can communicate a compelling vision for enhancing its market presentation. The ideal candidate should not be a decorator, but a design leader. They need to be confident across a variety of design styles such as Transitional, Modern, Post-modern, Young contemporary, Pacific Northwest, Wabi-Sabi and Elevated luxury and builder brand aesthetics.

The Design Manager at Decorus will shape and elevate the design concepts, motivate the team and ensure that every project reflects the unique sophistication, intentionality and brand alignment of Decorus. Candidates who are passionate about seeing great design come to life and who like working alongside a warehouse filled with timeless, high-end, and diverse furnishings would be well-suited for this role.

Leadership and clear communication skills are a must as the Design Manager role oversees the design department through four key areas. These include, clear processes, thoughtful handoffs, site visits, client walkthroughs, and strategic collaboration with the Business Development Manager, CEO, Lead Designer, Senior Designers, and our in-house art studio.

Expectations from the Design Manager include, elevating Decorus’ design excellence and brand reputation, leading and developing the design department with clarity and accountability, ensuring seamless client experiences from concept to installation, strengthening collaboration between design, logistics, and business development, and driving consistency, creativity, and craftsmanship across every project.

Key responsibilities include conducting client walkthroughs and articulating the vision and strategy, interpreting architectural style and target buyer information to guide staging direction, partnering with Business Development and CEO to align design, managing the design team through clear handoffs, feedback, and mentorship and overseeing operations including documentation, project scope materials and client walkthrough schedules.

The requirement for this role are deep interior design expertise and leadership experience. Technical skills include proficiency in using Canva, strong documentation habits, and a high level of organization with attention to detail.

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for achieving results in elevated design quality, building a stronger and more confident design team, and providing an exceptional client experience.

This role is based in Woodinville, WA, serving the Seattle and the Eastside luxury market. The position is full-time, primarily in-person with regular field visits and client walkthroughs. Occasionally remote flexibility will be available. The salary is competitive with benefits including medical, dental, and vision, paid time off, and access to high-end design projects and industry relationships.

A prospective candidate for this role should have at least three years of experience in interior design and at least one year in staging. The work schedule is day shifts only. Experience in operating Canva or the willingness to master it quickly is preferred. The role involves in-person work. The role demands strong communication skills, a team orientation, no egos, and must thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with a salary range between $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year.
