The role involves receiving, sorting, storing, cataloging, maintaining, and preparing household stage accessories such as pillows, bedding, art, and decorative items. The goal is to ensure items are accurate, easily accessible, and ready for staging. The candidates will also be responsible for maintaining an organized and safe warehouse with accurate inventory, which supports rapid order fulfillment and high-quality presentations for staging projects.
The key tasks are numerous. The candidate will receive and inspect incoming shipments of pillows, bedding, art, accessories, and related supplies. They will document discrepancies and report any damaged items. Unpacking, cleaning, repairing minor defects, and preparing items for storage or staging use is on their list. They will sort and store items by category, size, color, style, and condition using established racking/shelving and labeling systems.
They will also manage and update inventory records, including physical counts and digital tracking. Other duties include tagging items with SKU/location information, assisting with cycle counts and periodic audits, folding soft goods to staging-ready condition following company care standards.
They will rotate and assess quality, identifying worn, soiled, broken, or obsolete items and route for repair, cleaning, or disposal as per company policy. Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety is a priority. They may also collaborate with stylists and operations to fulfill short-notice requests and special staging needs.
The candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of warehouse, inventory, retail backroom, or staging-related experience would be preferred. They should be comfortable handling textiles, framed art, and delicate decorative items with attention to detail and have basic familiarity with inventory software or the willingness to learn how to use it, for example, Google sheets.
They should be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and should be comfortable using dollies and basic warehouse equipment. Strong organizational skills, time management and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are necessary. Good communication skills and responsiveness to stylist and operations requests is also required.
The candidate should be reliable, punctual, flexible and willing to work as needed. A valid driver’s license is preferred for occasional deliveries or pickups. Youthful, vigorous, and ready to travel to staging sites if necessary.
The work environment is mainly a warehouse, including tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching. It involves frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling of packed boxes and props, and exposure to dust and cleaning supplies.
The role is part-time, with pay from $13.00 per hour and an expected commitment of 18 hours per week. One year organizational skills experience is required. The candidate should be preferably located in Woodbridge, VA 22191 and must have the ability to commute to the work location. This role requires in-person work.
