The employer is seeking to hire a part-time assistant or floater. The role is not a design position. The staff member will be responsible for a number of duties such as packing up and restocking staging items on closed jobs. They will also handle the unpacking and placement of items on current staging jobs. This includes tasks such as making beds, hanging art, and folding towels. They will need to be available when new furniture shipments arrive and they should also be able to assemble furniture when necessary.
Training will be provided, but the applicant must have certain key attributes. They must be dependable and punctual. The right candidate will have a valid California driver’s license, insurance, and a vehicle. They should be willing to drive to remote jobs that are up to 40 miles away.
The preferred candidate should be available most days of the week. The typical working hours will be between 9 am and 3 pm during the weekdays. No work is required on weekends, holidays, or in the evenings.
A positive “can do” attitude is essential for this role. The individual should be able to adapt, pivot, and problem-solve as required. Physical strength is also a prerequisite as the individual should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Larger items will be moved by independent movers, but the staff member should be capable of packing and moving small pieces of furniture when needed.
The individual should maintain a professional attitude and demeanor, and have excellent communication skills.
The position is part-time with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour. The work will all be carried out in person.
