In this role, the person would work closely with the production team to help in designing and setting up stage elements. The Stage Assistant would also aid in planning out a budget for stage materials and resources, ensuring that project work stays within fiscal limits. The Stage Assistant should have knowledge of color theory and lighting design principles to enhance the visual appeal of shows.
The candidate will have the chance to take part in remodeling projects to alter stage setups for varied shows as required. The Stage Assistant’s tasks comprise supporting the fitting and upkeep of audio-visual equipment during rehearsals and shows, as well as assisting with logistical duties like transportation of materials and setup of stage props. The Stage Assistant would also be required to attend production meetings and provide thoughts on design concept and implementation strategies.
This role requires proficiency in design software like 3ds Max, Rhinoceros 3D, Revit, Sketchup, and Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial. A strong understanding of budgeting principles linked to production design is a must. Prior experience in stage production or related field is welcomed but is not a must. The candidate should have excellent communication capabilities and be able to operate effectively within a team environment. High-level organizational skills paired with a keen eye for detail are needed, in addition to being able to quickly adapt to shifting priorities and handling work under stern deadlines.
