The firm is looking for an In-House Furniture Upholstery Specialist. This professional is crucial in enhancing the look and usability of the company’s furniture pieces in a home staging and furniture design setting. The specialist’s tasks include refurbishing, repairing and custom-upholstering furniture to meet the firm’s design vision and clients’ requirements.
The specialist will primarily reupholster furniture. This includes items like sofas, chairs, ottomans, and headboards to fit the specified design. Besides refurbishing, they will also repair and restore any damaged or worn-out upholstery, cushions, and frames.
The professional will handle a variety of fabrics, leathers, and materials to create high-quality finishes. The job also involves collaboration with designers to coordinate the upholstery styles and colors with the staging and design themes. The specialist will be in charge of the careful measurement, cutting, sewing, and fitting of fabric for smooth upholstery application.
The specialist should ensure that all upholstered pieces are durable, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing. They will also manage upholstery tools, supplies, and equipment, and will be responsible for keeping the workspace clean and organized. The specialist must meet project deadlines to support home staging timelines.
In terms of qualifications and skills, the specialist must have expertise in upholstery techniques, fabric handling, and furniture restoration. They should be keen to details and have a strong sense of craftsmanship. They should have past experience with working on various furniture styles from modern to antique. The specialist must also have the ability to understand design plans and collaborate with a creative team. The job is available both full-time and part-time with pay starting from $20 per hour. The expected work hours are 40 per week with an 8-hour shift. Day shifts are preferred.
Commuting ability is a must to Los Angeles, CA 90007. The ability to relocate before starting work to Los Angeles, CA 90007 is a plus. The work location will be in person.
