Transition Home Staging, based in Arlington Heights, IL, is in need of a reliable, detail-focused Warehouse Specialist to supplement their home staging team. This part-time position offers 15-25 hours per week, with scheduling on a per-project basis. Candidates must have a flexible weekday schedule, typically falling within standard business hours. There are no weekend or night shifts.

This job requires physical labor, not management. Candidates able to handle furniture assembly and minor repairs might be eligible for extra hours. The main responsibilities include preparing inventory for staging, helping the moving team identify items for transport, and supervising to ensure safe, damage-free movement. The employee may also accompany the moving team to unload and arrange furniture at the staging property.

Another part of the role involves de-staging. This involves conducting walk-throughs before item removal, documenting any damage, carefully packing items for transport, and returning them to the warehouse. Cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse is a must, reporting any missing or damaged items as necessary.

Light staging duties might also be a part of the job. The candidate might assist the staging team in design selection and in placing small items. Tasks such as hanging artwork and steaming beds may be required.

Regarding furniture repair and assembly, the employee might be tasked with assembling new items and conducting light repairs.

The ideal candidate must be able to work on short notice and with a fluctuating schedule. This role would suit someone semi-retired, rejoining the workforce, or just needing extra income. The candidate must be self-driven, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Physically moving furniture should be manageable. Experience with inventory systems and basic tools would be advantageous. A valid driver’s license and reliable transport are mandatory.
