Shore Studio Property Styling is looking for a Part-Time Property Stylist. The successful candidate will report to Joni Laycook, who is the Principal at the company. It’s a part-time role offering a minimum of 12 hours per week, usually within the lights of 8 AM to 5 PM on weekdays. The average working hours range from 25 to 30 per week, depending on project workflow and the housing market demand. The pay, which will range from $20 to $28 an hour, is based on the experience of the candidate.
The position is located in Anne Arundel County and the surrounding areas and needs to be filled immediately. They are seeking an individual who is both creative and experienced, capable of planning, leading, and executing home staging and design projects. Ideally, the candidate should have at least 2 years of professional experience in home staging, interior design, or visual merchandising, and they should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
The responsibilities extend beyond physical staging support and include project planning, client collaboration, sourcing, and design development. The candidate will work directly with clients and the staging/design team to create beautiful, functional, and on-brand spaces.
Ideal candidates should have a background in home staging, interior design, or visual merchandising. You need at least 2 years of experience in these fields. You need to be creative, confident in your design decisions, and skilled in space planning. You must enjoy leading projects and collaborating with a team to handle hands-on tasks. You must be incredibly organized, reliable, and skilled in managing multiple moving parts.
Proficiency communicating professionally with clients, vendors, and team members is a must. Physically, you must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and comfortable with physical styling tasks. Lastly, having reliable transportation is a must, though mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Creativity and client-facing duties will require planning and leading staging and styling projects from conception to execution. It will involve meeting with staging and design clients to determine their needs and direction. You’ll be expected to source and select furnishings, décor, and materials based on project goals and budget. Implementing design concepts aligned with the project scope and brand standards is also part of the job.
Additionally, you will be required to provide consultation services. Assisting with team staging installations, including directing movers and completing styling, is also part of the job. This can involve assembling furniture, hanging art, organizing, and finishing projects. Working with the team to maintain and improve inventory and warehouse organization is important as well.
Maintaining project schedules, checklists, and staging plans is a necessity. Supporting social media content creation is also expected. Every job must be completed to high-quality standards with attention to detail.
You must have 2+ years of experience in staging, interior design, or visual merchandising.
You must also demonstrate strong styling skills and make confident decisions. Past experience with client-facing roles is also a must. Comfort with physical tasks like lifting, hanging, assembling, cleaning is non-negotiable.
Being proficient with Google Workspace, Trello, and social media platforms is required. Having a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and a willingness to travel locally will also be required of the successful candidate. Comfort in fast-paced, constantly changing environments and schedules is required. Demonstrating professional communication and time management skills is also necessary.
