The job vacancy is for an Interior Design & Property Setup Specialist role. The location is in metro Boston, including areas such as Brookline, Cambridge, Brighton, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, and South End. A rapidly expanding furnished rental company is looking for a diverse and innovative team player to aid in the design, furnishing, and upkeep of rental properties.
The perfect candidate possesses a keen eye for interior design, robust organizational abilities, and the capability to oversee projects from start to completion while adhering to a budget. The candidate will have responsibilities such as managing the cleaning crew, working alongside the maintenance team, keeping track of inventory, and attending team meetings to help enhance operations.
The role requires the candidate to undertake design projects from idea to execution for new units. The candidate is expected to set up properties entirely, encompassing areas such as kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, and common spaces. This involves utilizing furniture and décor from storage, ordering additional pieces as required, and working with the maintenance team to organize the pick-up, delivery, assembly, and placement of furniture and wall décor.
Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with cleaners to ensure properties are always ready for guests and are consistently presentable. They will also reorganize and restage existing units as needed (for instance, undertaking kitchen organization, inventory checks, replacements, etc.) and monitor unit conditions to identify items that need repair or replacement. The candidate will also research, source, and purchase materials and furnishings within budget and oversee project timelines and costs, ensuring efficiency and quality.
The successful candidate must have proven experience in decorating and staging interior spaces, strong organizational and project management skills, and a creative eye for design. An excellent communicator and team player, the candidate should also have the expertise to direct and maintain staff and cleaners.
Having a valid driver’s license and access to a car is necessary for the role, along with flexibility and readiness to take on varied tasks to support property readiness. The role is full-time or part-time, offering $20.00 – $25.00 per hour with a flexible schedule.
