The role that is available is for a Part-Time Junior Designer, who will serve as a Home Stager/Visual Merchandiser. The job location is in New York, NY and requires candidates who are NYC-based and are capable of travelling to the Hudson Valley Headquarters. This is a part-time role.
The company seeks an ambitious part-time entry level/junior stylist. Candidates should have a strong interest in interior design, visual merchandising, or real estate staging. The chosen candidate will need to demonstrate dependability, organisation, commitment and a desire to learn from top-tier professionals in a high-paced, high-end environment.
This isn’t a conventional office role. The junior designer will be expected to complete tasks out in the field, such as conducting walk-throughs with real estate agents, pulling inventory, completing pick sheets, and participating in live installations. This opportunity gives candidates a chance to gain real-world experience working with a respected, nationally recognized design firm.
The company is interested in candidates who have studied Interior Design, Home Products, Visual Merchandising, or a related field. Strong organisational and communication skills are highly regarded. The role requires the successful candidate to work under pressure within a team-based environment. The role may involve working on job sites, in the warehouse, and at staging installs. The ability to work independently and take initiative is essential in this role.
Considering that the job location is in New York, candidates must be based in New York City, but must also be prepared to travel to the Hudson Valley 1–2 times a week as required. Basic skills in furniture handling, accessory placement, or layout execution are highly beneficial. If a candidate has experience in visual merchandising or styling, especially in home decor, this would be considered an added bonus.
The role responsibilities include conducting property walkthroughs with real estate agents to assess design and staging needs, completing pick sheets, pulling inventory from the company’s curated warehouse, participating in staging installations and setups in luxury homes and short-term rentals, and styling spaces using furniture, accessories, and artwork.
This part-time, entry-level position is ideal for someone who is eager to dive into the world of high-end staging and design. It’s a rare opportunity to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, professional environment and has the potential for growth into more senior roles.
