Phoenix Staging + Design in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC is looking to grow their team. They are seeking to hire a confident home stager, a position perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a passion for hands-on design, and can lead install days to transform homes into stylish, ready-to-sell spaces. There will be an opportunity for this part-time position to evolve into a full-time role as the business continues to expand.
The home stager will have a major role on the team, functioning as the on-site design lead to bring every project to life. Key tasks will include creating room layouts, making final design decisions, leading install teams, styling homes to photo-ready standards, and maintaining brand consistency across projects. The home stager will also assist with inventory management, problem-solving, and collaboration with designers, agents, and homeowners. This role combines creativity, physical work (including lifting up to 25 lbs and climbing stairs), and leadership, requiring the candidate to be comfortable working in different locations.
Phoenix Staging + Design’s support team will handle all operational aspects including client communication, scheduling, inventory tracking, logistics, transportation, billing, invoicing, marketing, warehouse organization, restocking, and system updates. This will allow the home stager to focus solely on creating beautiful spaces.
This role is for someone who enjoys a hands-on, fast-paced work environment. It’s not for those seeking a relaxed design job. It will involve working in various locations every week, dealing with physical tasks such as moving furniture, making quick design decisions under pressure, managing different personalities and expectations, and navigating in a constantly changing environment.
The compensation offered for this role lies between $17.45 and $24.67 per hour. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including leading the install crews on-site, selecting inventory, overseeing quality and styling, tackling challenges on the spot, professionally communicating with everyone involved in the project, ensuring projects stay on schedule, and maintaining consistent staging standards across all locations.
The ideal candidate should have experience in home staging or interior design, exhibit strong leadership skills, be able to make effective design decisions on-the-spot, have strong communication skills, and be comfortable with physical tasks. They must be able to manage multiple projects at once and be proficient at problem-solving, particularly in relation to on-site challenges. A minimum of 3 years of home staging experience is required.
This opportunity at Phoenix Staging + Design offers a creative, collaborative environment, the chance for growth within a fast-scaling company, the opportunity to directly impact home sales and client success, and exposure to high-volume staging across VA, MD, and DC.
