They should project an energetic attitude, displaying initiative, and showing a keen interest in learning more about the specific aesthetic their clients have come to expect. While a degree or certificate in the design field could be beneficial, it is not necessary. Most importantly, the candidate should have a strong affinity for design, understand the basics, and demonstrate a quick learning ability.
The workday typically starts at 7:30 AM at their warehouse and ends at 5:00 PM or sometimes earlier or later. The candidate must be reliable, ready to show up on time, and stay until the job is completed. Essential skills include the ability to work effectively both under direction and independently, sharp attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the capacity to think on one’s feet. Working knowledge of computer programs with the ability to learn new software is beneficial, as is knowledge of hand tools and some basic home improvement skills. The candidate must also be in reasonable health, able to lift 40 lbs occasionally, and possess a smartphone with a data plan and a Gmail account to access a cloud-based company calendar and project documents. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation are mandatory. All applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Daily task responsibility includes learning and using their web-based tracking system for inventory, collaborating with designers on inventory selection, packing and unpacking household items, performing small household tasks such as making beds, hanging art, placing accessories, possibly installing curtain rods, sweeping and vacuuming floors, restocking the warehouse, occasionally assembling furniture, and maintaining household inventory.
Employees are paid weekly via auto-deposit, and mileage is reimbursed. Benefits include paid sick leave, holidays, vacation, training, and time off.
