About this role
Tahoe Exclusive Vacation Rentals is hiring an Assistant Home Stager in Truckee, CA. The position offers hands-on work staging luxury homes throughout the Lake Tahoe and Truckee area, combining creative styling with inventory management and physical preparation tasks.
The role involves a range of responsibilities that shift from day to day. Assistant stagers support the lead stager in readying homes for photography sessions and buyer showings. Key duties include moving and positioning furniture, artwork, and decorative items throughout properties. Finishing work such as basic cleaning, steaming bedding, removing marks, and arranging spaces falls to this position. A significant portion of the job centers on maintaining and organizing the staging storage facility and inventory, an ongoing responsibility. The position requires independent travel between job sites across the Tahoe area and the storage location. Assistant stagers gain training in the full staging process with potential to eventually take on staging work without supervision.
Candidates should bring reliable transportation and comfort driving through mountain terrain in winter conditions. The employer seeks organized, detail-oriented people who take initiative and work productively without close supervision. A strong work ethic and positive attitude matter most. Physical capability for moving furniture and other demanding tasks is essential. The role includes occasional weekend availability. Prior staging or design experience is beneficial but not required; the employer prioritizes motivation and willingness to learn.
Hours run 30 to 40 per week and shift based on real estate market cycles. Busier periods may include longer days, while slower weeks provide schedule flexibility. During slower staging weeks, work focuses on inventory management and project preparation. Compensation starts at $25 per hour. A flexible schedule is offered as a benefit. Applicants should submit information about themselves, any relevant experience, and reasons they would be a good fit for the team.
