Privacy policy

This policy explains what StagingJobs (stagingjobs.com) collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. StagingJobs is the data controller for the information described here. Questions can go to hello@stagingjobs.com.

Information we collect

• Account details. When you create an account we store your name, email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
• Job posts and applications. The content you submit when you post a role or apply to one, including any cover letter and links you provide.
• Report and kit requests. If you ask for one of the free guides offered on the site, we collect your first name and email address (see "Sharing with the Home Staging Institute" below).
• Technical data. Your IP address and basic request data, used to run the site, apply rate limits and prevent abuse.
• Analytics data. If you consent (or where consent is implied outside the EU/UK), Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed and approximate location. Nothing is set before consent is resolved, and you can decline.

How we use it

• To show listings, deliver applications to employers, and provide the free guides you request.
• To operate, secure and improve the site, including preventing fraud and abuse.
• To contact you about your account, an application, or a post you have made.

Our legal bases (where the UK/EU GDPR applies) are: performance of a contract for running your account and applications; your consent for analytics and the free guides; and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working.

Sharing

Employers. When you apply to a job, your application is shared with that employer so they can consider you. We are not the employer and are not responsible for their handling of it.

Service providers. We use a small number of processors purely to run the service, and share only what each needs:

• Cloudflare hosts the site and its database and provides security.
• Cloudflare Email Service sends transactional email (verification, password reset, application notifications).
• Google Analytics provides usage analytics, subject to your consent.
• Apify is used to gather public job listings that we rewrite before publishing. This does not involve your personal data.

We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing with the Home Staging Institute

The free guides on this site (such as the Applicant Readiness Report and the Get-Ready Kit) are provided by the Home Staging Institute, our platinum sponsor, through their email platform (MailerLite). If you request one, the first name and email address you give are shared with the Home Staging Institute so they can send it to you and may contact you about their certification. Each form says so before you submit, and you can unsubscribe from their emails at any time using the link in any message they send.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is open and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and operational needs. Applications are kept so employers can refer back to them. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Your choices and rights

• Analytics. Decline the cookie banner, or set a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, and no analytics cookies are set. We honour GPC everywhere.
• Marketing from the Home Staging Institute. Unsubscribe using the link in any of their emails.
• Access, correction and deletion. Email hello@stagingjobs.com to access, correct or delete your data, or to close your account.
• California residents (CCPA/CPRA) have the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell your data, and we honour Global Privacy Control as an opt-out signal.
• UK/EU residents (GDPR) have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and may complain to a supervisory authority.
