About this role
Bay Area Staging is hiring an experienced Home Stager in San Jose, CA. This position offers full-time or part-time work on day shifts with on-call availability as needed. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of professional real estate home staging experience.
Day-to-day responsibilities include visiting residential properties to assess spaces and determine staging needs, then developing staging plans that select and arrange furniture, artwork, lighting, and accessories to match each property's architecture and appeal to buyers. The stager will arrange furnishings and décor to enhance flow, highlight best features, and create cohesive, inviting rooms. Hands-on work involves preparing, furnishing, decorating, and styling properties alongside the team. The stager will also select and organize inventory from the warehouse, coordinate with delivery personnel to ensure correct placement, inspect completed projects for quality, and make adjustments as needed. Additional duties include photographing completed stagings for manager review, removing furniture and accessories after staging periods, maintaining company inventory in clean and organized condition, communicating with clients and real estate agents throughout projects, and building professional relationships within the real estate industry to support business growth.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of full-time professional home staging experience, not general interior design work. A portfolio of completed projects is preferred. Required qualifications include strong knowledge of staging principles, interior styling, furniture placement, color coordination, and visual presentation for real estate listings. The stager must be physically capable of lifting and carrying items up to 30 lbs, detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, and able to assess property layouts and develop practical, visually appealing solutions. The role demands hands-on involvement in packing, loading, furniture arrangement, styling, and destaging. The candidate should be team-oriented, adaptable, receptive to feedback, and possess professional communication skills to build rapport with clients and industry contacts. Reliable transportation and the ability to drive throughout San Jose to the warehouse and staging locations are essential.
Salary is negotiable based on experience. Interested candidates should apply with their qualifications and portfolio.
