About this role
Chicago Spark Design is hiring a Staging Assistant in Chicago, IL. Spark Staging is an environmental branding design studio that creates custom installations, curated décor, murals, signage, and other branded materials for client projects. The staging team handles work from warehouse preparation through on-site installation, and this role sits at the center of those operations.
The Staging Assistant will manage warehouse operations and inventory while occasionally supporting on-site project installations. Day-to-day warehouse work involves receiving large deliveries and pallets, unloading and inspecting incoming merchandise, organizing and shelving décor items and staging materials, breaking down packing materials, maintaining overall warehouse cleanliness and organization, and pulling materials for upcoming projects. The role includes unpacking and reshelving returned or unused items after installations and coordinating with third-party moving partners for pickups and deliveries. Inventory management tasks involve maintaining an online tracking system, recording products used in projects, monitoring stock levels, flagging items for reordering, and participating in periodic audits. When needed, the assistant will support staging team installations on-site, helping to install large plant arrangements, transport and place décor items, and handle materials carefully during load-in and load-out.
Required qualifications include strong organizational skills and attention to detail, comfort with physical labor, ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, capacity to move large items, bend frequently, and remain on feet for extended periods, strong communication skills, self-motivation, reliability, and a collaborative mindset. Experience with inventory management systems such as inFlow or warehouse organization is preferred. Familiarity with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs, is expected.
Chicago Spark Design operates on a four-day workweek schedule, Monday through Thursday, offering full-time employment for this entry-level position.
