Entry-Level Interior Design Assistant/Accessories Librarian

Cathy Hobbs Design Recipes is hiring an Entry-Level Interior Design Assistant/Accessories Librarian in Lloyd, NY. This part-time position is based at the company's state-of-the-art Home Staging and Design Center in New Paltz on a 4-acre property, and serves the Hudson Valley design team working on luxury real estate staging, short-term rental design, and vacation home styling. The role centers on maintaining and managing the warehouse accessories library while supporting staging projects and design work.

The assistant will handle the following responsibilities:

• Organize and shelve accessories returning from staging jobs in a timely manner
• Kit and bag accessories, bedding, and other materials into organized groupings
• Wash and fold linens used in staging work
• Print artwork and perform basic framing tasks
• Shop for accessories and home decor items at local retailers as needed
• Assist with procurement from wholesale vendor lists
• Support the Manhattan design team with accessories when required
• Stage Hudson Valley projects alongside the design team
• Maintain impeccable organization and cleanliness throughout the warehouse and showroom
• Contribute to marketing and outreach efforts
• Handle general administrative tasks as assigned

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

• Strong background and knowledge of visual merchandising and props
• Previous experience in home staging and prop styling
• Self-directed work ethic with the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Genuine interest in real estate and interior design
• Comfort with physical work, as staging involves lifting and extended hours
• Social media savvy and solid computer skills
• Familiarity with current trends in interior design and home staging
• Established connection to the Hudson Valley area
• Carpentry skills are a plus but not required
