Furniture Mover & Staging Assistant

Mission Design Co. is hiring a Furniture Mover & Staging Assistant in Columbus, OH. This position combines hands-on furniture handling, warehouse organization, and collaboration with the staging team on home staging projects throughout the Columbus area.

The role involves loading, transporting, delivering, and removing furniture, artwork, and staging accessories from job sites and warehouse storage. The assistant will pack trucks strategically to maximize space while safeguarding every item, navigate furniture carefully through doorways, stairways, and finished homes without damaging walls or floors, and position furniture according to staging direction. Additional responsibilities include maintaining inventory in clean condition with proper wrapping and protection, returning items and supplies to designated warehouse locations, organizing the warehouse for team efficiency, using phone apps like Hutch to access project details and notes, and communicating promptly with the staging team about damage, missing pieces, or project issues.

Candidates should be able to safely lift and move items exceeding 50 pounds, using team lifts and proper equipment. Exceptional attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to identify dirty, damaged, misplaced, or incorrectly packed items. Strong spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills are important for efficiently loading trucks and storage spaces. An appreciation for interior design, furniture quality, and well-presented spaces is valued. The position requires someone naturally organized and tidy, respectful of furniture and clients' homes, comfortable with smartphone apps, dependable, and focused on thoroughness. Prior experience in moving, furniture delivery, warehouse work, or home staging is a bonus.

The role operates Monday through Friday with flexible hours ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week, depending on assignment. Pay is hybrid, combining hourly rates and project-based compensation between $20 and $25 per hour; specific details will be clarified during the interview. The position is based in-person at Mission Design Co.'s warehouse and staging properties throughout the Columbus area.
