Staging Assistant (Part-Time)

Red Dot Home Services is hiring a part-time Staging Assistant in the Houston area. This role offers 20 to 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm, with the possibility of additional hours during busy periods. The position is based in Sugar Land, TX with regular travel throughout the Houston region and to company storage facilities.

The Staging Assistant will handle multiple facets of home staging projects. Responsibilities include touring homes scheduled for sale and creating design concepts for individual rooms, selecting appropriate furniture, artwork, rugs, and decorative accessories from storage inventory to match each design plan, collaborating with movers on install days to position furniture and complete styling for photography, serving as the primary liaison between realtors and homeowners from initial contact through job completion, and managing incoming business calls, booking consultations, and providing clients with project updates.

To succeed in this role, candidates should have a natural aptitude for design with an understanding of color coordination, spatial relationships, and texture layering. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to assess client needs, communicate clearly, manage demanding homeowners and time-pressured realtors professionally, and deliver desired outcomes. The candidate must be comfortable making styling decisions independently using available inventory without requiring additional shopping. Organizational skills and dependability are critical since installations operate on compressed schedules with multiple parties relying on consistent performance.

Specific requirements include physical comfort with occasionally lifting items up to 20 lbs, possession of a valid driver's license with reliable transportation and willingness to drive throughout the Houston area, availability for the stated 20 to 30 hours per week on weekdays during business hours, and professional phone communication abilities.

Prior experience in home staging, interior design, visual merchandising, real estate, or event styling is valued but not required. A portfolio showcasing styled spaces, including personal home projects, is a plus.
