About this role

Lavish Interiors is hiring an Interior Designer in Phoenix, AZ to serve as a design leader and oversee the aesthetic direction of luxury home staging projects. This position involves managing a two-person team of interior designers and stagers while personally selecting and approving all furniture, accessories, art, and rugs for installations. The designer will set the standard for all staging work across Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley, working with high-net-worth clients and premium real estate agents.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead and provide hands-on feedback to a team of two interior designers/stagers, ensuring adherence to brand standards and professional development
  • Select all furniture pieces for staging projects while considering timelines, client specifications, and inventory availability
  • Review and approve all accessory, art, and rug selections from team members to maintain visual cohesion and design excellence
  • Conduct regular design quality reviews before installation to verify compliance with brand standards and client requirements
  • Participate in design layout meetings with ownership to establish creative vision and project direction
  • Travel to Las Vegas and High Point, North Carolina furniture markets to source new inventory and establish vendor relationships
  • Mentor one or both team members at furniture markets to expand their design knowledge and industry networks
  • Provide market insights and product recommendations to inform company purchasing strategy
  • Coordinate daily team activities, project timelines, and inventory management from the North Phoenix office
  • Attend special events and occasional Saturday work as needed

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or equivalent professional certification demonstrating expertise
  • Minimum 5 years of professional interior design experience with expertise in residential staging or high-end residential design
  • Strong knowledge of furniture styles, quality tiers, and sourcing methods within project budgets and schedules
  • Understanding of color theory, spatial design, and how accessories and rugs contribute to overall room impact
  • Proficiency in Houzz Pro (required), with experience in CAD, SketchUp, or similar design software strongly preferred
  • Professional portfolio showing residential staging or luxury residential design work
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor design teams with strong communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities and capacity to juggle multiple projects
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods during site visits and installations
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for market travel
  • Familiarity with the Phoenix/Scottsdale/Paradise Valley market is preferred
  • Experience with luxury residential projects and high-net-worth clients is preferred
