Luxury Staging Design is hiring an Installation Captain and Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor in Van Nuys, CA. This position leads the logistics team and oversees the physical delivery of all staging projects, from warehouse operations through on-site installations and removals. The Installation Captain partners with the design team to execute each project on time and within budget while managing crew coordination and equipment.
The Installation Captain's responsibilities include:
- Lead and supervise installation crews during all staging move-ins and move-outs
- Assign crew members to projects based on scope and timeline
- Manage warehouse operations including inventory organization, furniture tracking, truck loading, and equipment maintenance
- Coordinate logistics for multiple concurrent installations across the Los Angeles area
- Work with the design team to ensure properties are staged according to specifications
- Schedule personnel, arrange delivery timelines, and resolve problems on-site as they arise
- Train, evaluate, and manage warehouse and installation staff performance
- Enforce safety standards during all loading, transport, and installation work
- Maintain and organize inventory to reduce loss and speed up project turnover
- Service and maintain trucks on a regular schedule
- Perform quality checks on furnishings to confirm condition and appearance standards are met
- During off-peak periods, oversee warehouse inventory sales and manage home delivery operations
Required qualifications include:
- At least 2 years of experience in moving, logistics, warehouse management, or related fields (home staging or furniture industry experience preferred)
- Demonstrated experience managing and leading a team
- Bilingual capability in English and Spanish
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities with capacity to handle multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
- Valid driver's license and comfort operating box trucks (CDL preferred but not required)
- Physical capability to lift furniture and work in a hands-on environment
- Strong communication skills to coordinate between crew and design team
- Reliable and detail-oriented approach with problem-solving focus
- Ability to handle retail sales responsibilities during slower seasons
The position is full-time and requires early morning and weekend availability during installation periods. Compensation is $25 to $35 per hour based on experience, with overtime pay available during peak installation seasons.
