The job offered is for a Home Staging & Design Assistant. The role is part-time with working hours from Tuesday to Friday, starting at 9am and ending at 5pm. There may be some variation in the hours, depending on the schedule.
The job involves assisting in preparing for home stagings. This includes moving selected furniture to the front of the warehouse for trailer loading, and organizing pillows, bedding, art, and decor according to the specific style of the home. They would also be responsible for helping to load the trailer under the team leader’s direction.
At the property, they would help unload the trailer and distribute all items throughout the home. This might involve placing furniture, unrolling rugs, assembling bed frames, inflating mattresses, hanging art, and placing decor.
They would also be expected to assist in ‘destaging’ properties. This would entail ensuring that the trailer is prepped with all necessary materials before leaving the warehouse. They would also need to help move all inventory from the home back into the trailer and make sure that all items are securely loaded to avoid damage in transit. Back at the warehouse, they would help to put everything back in place.
Another essential job requirement would be assisting with the final installation of short-term rental design jobs. This would involve referring to printed design boards when setting up each room, hanging art, rolling out rugs, arranging decor pillows, and conducting light staging for any photoshoots.
Maintenance of warehouse organization and basic office upkeep also come under their responsibilities. This would mean addressing areas of the warehouse that need organization, cleaning the office, and constructing any new furniture bought for staging inventory.
They would also need to be willing to accept scheduled deliveries at the warehouse or clients’ homes.
The role has a few additional requirements, including having a vehicle and valid driver’s license, being able to lift 50 pounds, and feeling comfortable working in various weather conditions. The job could also be physically demanding at times. Some experience related to home staging or interior retail is preferred.
Applicants are asked to submit a resume, a short self-description, and photos of any spaces that they have styled or created.
This position presents a great opportunity to gain experience for those new to the design world, as many principles and fundamentals of interior design overlap with home staging. The job pays $18.00 per hour and requires in-person work.
