About this role

Caring Transitions of Peachtree City is hiring an Estate & Organizing Specialist in Atlanta, GA. This locally owned business supports seniors and families navigating major life transitions by offering downsizing, decluttering, relocation, packing, organizing, and estate liquidation services. The company is building its team and seeks reliable, hardworking people interested in growing with the business and developing new skills.

This role differs from traditional moving work because clients often face significant life changes, and the work directly eases their transition. Team members work in clients' homes alongside family members, helping sort belongings, organize spaces, prepare for relocations, and stage homes for the next chapter. Each project is distinct and may involve packing a lifetime of belongings one day or organizing a garage and preparing for an estate sale the next.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Packing household belongings professionally for relocation or storage
  • Unpacking and organizing items in clients' new homes or apartments
  • Assisting clients with sorting, organizing, decluttering, and categorizing belongings
  • Preparing items for donation, sale, disposal, or relocation
  • Staging and preparing homes for estate sales, including setup and breakdown
  • Moving boxes, supplies, and household items to and from storage
  • Safely lifting and carrying boxes, décor, and some furniture
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Treating clients, family members, coworkers, vendors, and referral partners with respect and professionalism
  • Following project instructions and completing tasks carefully and efficiently
  • Taking initiative to identify and address needs without constant direction
  • Performing other project-related duties as client and business needs evolve

Ideal candidates demonstrate dependability and punctuality, kindness and patience, and comfort working with seniors and their families. Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, clear communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team are essential. Candidates should be willing to jump in wherever needed, take pride in quality work, treat others' belongings with care, and maintain productivity with minimal supervision.

Prior experience in moving, packing, professional organizing, senior services, hospitality, customer service, home staging, estate sales, construction, warehouse work, cleaning, or retail is beneficial but not required. Attitude, work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn matter most.

Requirements include reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, a smartphone capable of running scheduling and project-management applications, physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work on feet for extended periods, and capacity to safely lift and carry boxes and household items. Candidates must be able to safely lift approximately 40 to 50 pounds with assistance for heavier or awkward items, work comfortably in various home environments, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, and pass any required background screening.

This is a part-time, project-based position with varying schedules depending on client projects. The company seeks people with strong availability Monday through Saturday, generally between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and able to work at least 3 days per week when projects are available. Initial hours are not guaranteed, but the business aims to expand and create more consistent opportunities for strong performers. Starting pay is $17 per hour. As Caring Transitions of Peachtree City grows, opportunities for increased hours, greater responsibility, and advancement will become available for team members demonstrating reliability, initiative, and leadership potential.
