Mover & Warehouse Associate

Steel City Home Staging & Design is hiring a Mover & Warehouse Associate in West Mifflin, PA. This is a hands-on moving and installation position, not a design role. The associate will handle furniture and décor for staging jobs across Allegheny County, working with homeowners, realtors, and investors. The company looks for someone with moving experience who takes pride in proper handling, keeps equipment and spaces organized without prompting, and can be trusted with company vehicles and client properties.

Responsibilities include the following moving and handling tasks:

• Pack, wrap, and protect furniture and décor using moving blankets and appropriate materials
• Load, strap, and secure items safely for transport
• Deliver, place, and pick up furniture at client properties
• Arrange furniture based on photos or stager direction, and hang art, mirrors, and other décor
• Assemble furniture and make minor repairs as needed
• Document damaged items and ensure they are resolved, repaired, or prepared for resale
• Report any damage or issues at client properties immediately
• Maintain professional conduct while in client homes

Truck and driving responsibilities include the following:

• Inspect the company cargo van or box truck before and after each use
• Drive safely to and from jobs, including through city traffic and tight parking spaces
• Sweep out the truck after each use

Warehouse responsibilities include the following:

• Pull and prepare each job's furniture and décor, verifying correct items leave the warehouse
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe
• Sweep the warehouse floor daily
• Break down cardboard, remove garbage, and arrange dumpster pickups when needed
• Fold blankets, hang straps, and store materials properly
• Track moving supplies and report when replenishment is necessary

Property access and security duties include the following:

• Lock and unlock client properties and the warehouse
• Set alarms and turn off lights before leaving
• Manage keys, codes, and access information with discretion

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Proven moving experience with knowledge of proper wrapping, packing, and strapping techniques
• Self-directed and responsible; recognizes what needs to be done and completes it
• Trustworthy with company vehicles, inventory, and client properties
• Remains steady under pressure when facing schedule changes, traffic delays, or high warehouse volume
• Punctual with availability for early starts
• Owns and brings personal tools including dolly and tool set
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
• Must pass a background check
• Reliable personal transportation
• Consistently punctual and dependable, as clients, stagers, and schedules rely on crew arrivals

Physical demands of this position:

• Regularly lift and carry up to 75 pounds or more
• Move furniture up and down stairs and through confined spaces
• Work extended shifts on feet
• Work in varying conditions including vacant homes, warehouses, and outdoor weather

This is a contract position offering 20 to 40 hours per week at $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. Work is in-person at the West Mifflin location.
