Social Media Specialist

Dovetail Furniture is hiring a Social Media Specialist in Los Angeles, CA. This is a hands-on position reporting to the marketing and creative teams, focused on building Dovetail's presence across Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and LinkedIn to reach trade professionals including retailers, interior designers, and home stagers who source the company's furniture for their stores and projects.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Develop and execute a social media strategy with channel-specific goals and content plans aligned with brand direction, audience growth priorities, product releases, lookbooks, showrooms, and industry events.
• Manage the content calendar, coordinate assets and captions, submit weekly plans for review, and schedule and publish approved content on time.
• Expand and strengthen the Pinterest channel through organized boards, keyword-optimized titles and descriptions, original Pins, relevant links, and ongoing experimentation.
• Create social graphics and videos in Canva or Adobe tools, including image crops, carousels, Stories, Pins, and short-form video content while maintaining visual consistency across platforms.
• Produce compelling, accurate copy that connects design inspiration to the needs of retailers, designers, home stagers, and other trade professionals.
• Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and tagged content during assigned coverage times; escalate sales and service inquiries to appropriate teams and gather customer feedback for internal sharing.
• Coordinate features with designers and retailers, obtain permission to reuse partner content, maintain proper credits, and assist with relevant partnership opportunities.
• Measure and report on performance, track platform and industry trends, and provide clear recommendations and monthly reports based on findings.
• Use Metricool, HubSpot, native platform analytics, and similar tools for planning, publishing, reporting, and campaign measurement.
• Work with photography, merchandising, sales, and marketing teams to spot content opportunities and prepare detailed briefs for additional assets.

Required experience and skills:

• Approximately 3 to 5 years of professional social media experience with documented examples of channels or campaigns grown and a clear description of individual contribution.
• Active hands-on experience managing Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, along with practical experience publishing and optimizing Pinterest content.
• Strong visual sensibility and genuine interest in furniture, interiors, materials, and design; ability to work within an established visual direction and identify opportunities for new content.
• Proficiency with Canva or Adobe tools for designing social graphics, adapting photography, and editing basic short-form video.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with the capacity to tailor messaging for different audiences and platforms.
• Ability to interpret social analytics, explain results and implications, identify necessary changes, and design measurement approaches for future tests.
• Proven track record managing content calendars, meeting deadlines, coordinating approvals, and communicating effectively with colleagues.
• Demonstrated experience with a social scheduling and analytics platform; prior use of Metricool or HubSpot is valued.
• Background in furniture, home goods, interior design, wholesale, or B2B marketing is preferred; candidates from related design or lifestyle fields should be able to explain how they would adjust their approach for a trade audience.

Success in this role means developing and executing a social media strategy that increases Dovetail's brand presence and generates measurable growth in target audience size and engagement across all four platforms, particularly improving Pinterest performance, driving qualified site traffic and trade inquiries, and using monthly reports to assess progress and refine strategy.
