Director of Operations and Design

GSD Home Staging is hiring a Director of Operations and Design in Stamford, CT. This role bridges creative and operational responsibilities, partnering with the owner and creative director to execute staging and design projects with precision and consistency while managing a team of project managers and design associates. The position oversees warehouse and inventory operations and supports all phases of client work from initial design through installation.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Supervise Project Managers to deliver staging projects on time and aligned with company standards
• Manage warehouse operations including inventory, purchasing, and coordination with the Warehouse Manager
• Participate in installations and styling sessions as needed
• Guide furniture selection and accessory curation alongside design preparation work
• Create and review client proposals, outlining project scope, schedules, and pricing
• Support interior design initiatives through sourcing, procurement, and vendor management
• Lead and develop team members by setting performance goals and encouraging teamwork
• Track project progress using management systems and metrics to monitor pipeline health

Ideal candidates bring genuine interest in interior design and the aesthetics of beautiful spaces. Key qualifications include strong organizational skills, proven experience leading and managing teams, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Candidates should communicate clearly, make confident decisions, and be comfortable operating across office, warehouse, and client sites. Client-facing work and expectation management are essential parts of the role. Background in home staging, interior design, operations management, or project management is preferred.

GSD Home Staging offers paid time off. The position is based in Stamford and requires in-person presence. The annual salary range is $70,000 to $75,000.
