Empire Office Inc is hiring a Stylist in Albany, NY 12242. The Stylist executes the final stages of design implementation through on-site installation and styling of residential projects, bringing approved design concepts to life with careful attention to furniture placement, soft furnishings, artwork, and décor. This position serves as the direct link between design intent and client-ready spaces, working closely with designers, project managers, and installation crews to ensure projects are completed accurately and meet brand standards.
The Stylist's responsibilities include the following:
- Execute on-site installation and styling for model homes, rental units, and amenity spaces
- Position furniture, soft goods, artwork, and accessories in alignment with approved design plans and brand specifications
- Direct installation teams on proper placement and sequencing of styling work
- Make real-time adjustments when site conditions require deviations from original plans
- Conduct client walkthroughs to present completed spaces and explain styling choices
- Communicate clearly about design decisions to ensure client satisfaction
- Inspect finished spaces for accuracy, quality, and completeness
- Identify any deficiencies, damage, or missing elements
- Work with warehouse and procurement staff to resolve outstanding items or source alternatives
- Coordinate with the Design Production team to understand specifications and stylistic goals
- Communicate with Install Leads and Drivers to keep projects running smoothly
- Report timelines, risks, and site conditions to Project Managers
- Document completed work with detailed photos and checklists
- Compile post-install reports noting punch list items, substitutions, and inventory needs
Candidates should have the following background:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in interior styling, residential design, visual merchandising, or model home staging
- Strong sense of design composition, proportion, and visual presentation
- Ability to make confident decisions quickly while maintaining design integrity
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for client interactions
- Comfort directing installation crews and managing team coordination
- Strong problem-solving ability and flexibility when adapting to changing site conditions
- Ability to read and interpret design plans, elevations, and furniture layouts
- Valid driver's license
This position requires travel. Compensation is $50,000 to $65,000 annually.
