Home Staging Designer

They are in search of a Home Staging Designer. The primary function of this role is to lead home staging services from conceptualization to installation. Alongside this, the chosen candidate will also be a valuable contributor to full-scale staging design projects. A certain level of creativity and problem-solving skills are required for this role, as well as a degree of experience in hands-on tasks.

The selected candidate will have several key duties. These include creating the standard “Meridith Baer” look and one or two other design styles. The Home Staging Designer will achieve this by using items from the existing inventory, along with specially crafted pieces. A significant part of the role involves effective communication with both homeowner/broker and the Meridith Baer Account Executive. The main aim is to identify the household needs and suggest the most appropriate budget furnishings.

The candidate must keep up-to-date with furniture production trends, being able to order and monitor the creation of custom pieces. The submission of a Designer Debrief after each job is vital as it identifies any install/inventory issues or potential needs for move outs. Furthermore, the designer will also take care of the FileMaker inventory system for inventory control and job price lists. A key part of the role is facilitating the sales of furniture used to stage homes. This might involve some travel as per requirement.

The ideal candidate will show flexibility in working with different aesthetic styles. Efficiency in preparations and installs to prevent crew overtime is also critical. Understanding the needs of a homeowner or a broker is important to deliver the requested design. Clear communication with the sales team ensures that customer expectations are exceeded.

Applicants should have at least a bachelor's degree in interior design, or the equivalent work experience. Alongside an experience of minimum 3 years in real estate, staging, or design, the following skills are deemed essential: interpersonal communication, determination, initiative, diplomacy, and a consistently positive attitude. Candidates must also be ready to work across multiple locations and should be comfortable in warehouse conditions and staged homes. Good time and project management skills, along with autonomy and the ability to multi-task, are vital. The final pre-requisites are excellent communication skills and some basic computer skills. In particular, proficiency in Gmail, Google Drive, Google Photos, and Google Calendar is required.
