An established upscale home staging company serving the greater Southern California market is hiring a Home Staging Designer in Orange County, CA. This hands-on position blends design leadership with operational execution, covering residential projects from initial concept through final installation. The designer will work with the owner and a small crew across Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and directing design concepts for each property, choosing furniture and accessories from company inventory with attention to style, scale, and spatial layout
- Conducting site walkthroughs and measurements to create detailed layout plans prior to installation
- Creating clear, actionable design plans that enable the installation crew to execute the staging vision efficiently
- Managing on-site staging and de-staging work, supervising furniture placement to match design specifications
- Handling day-to-day warehouse operations such as pulling and organizing inventory, packing accessories, loading staging materials for delivery, and maintaining organized facilities
- Supporting project scheduling, contractor coordination, and client proposals
- Communicating professionally with real estate agents, homeowners, and builder partners throughout projects
- Documenting completed installations with photos for company marketing and social media
Required qualifications:
- 2 or more years of experience in home staging, interior design, or a related field with a developed sense for how spaces perform in the market; design students are welcome to apply
- Strong spatial awareness and ability to create a cohesive, market-appropriate aesthetic using existing inventory across multiple styles
- Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory, pull lists, and timelines concurrently
- Professional and proactive communication skills with the crew and clients
- Self-directed work style with strong follow-through, positive problem-solving orientation, and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Physical capability to regularly handle lifting, loading, organizing, and moving items up to 30 pounds
- Valid California driver's license, clean driving record, and comfort operating a company van across Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire
- Technical comfort with learning new systems and software
- Availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Associate degree (required)
Experience with model or spec homes and familiarity with AutoCAD or SketchUp are preferred.
The position offers $25 to $30 per hour based on experience, with 20 to 35 hours per week depending on project needs. Benefits include mileage reimbursement for business driving in a personal vehicle, California paid sick leave, and opportunities for role expansion as the company grows.
