Home Staging Designer

Meridith Baer Home is hiring a Home Staging Designer in San Leandro, CA. This full-time position offers a base salary plus commission totaling $70,500 per year and requires submission of a portfolio as part of the application.

The Home Staging Designer leads staging projects from initial concept through installation, collaborating with the team on large-scale design work. The role balances creative vision with hands-on execution and problem-solving.

• Design and install staging using the signature Meridith Baer aesthetic alongside one or two additional design styles, drawing from warehouse inventory and custom furnishings according to company procedures
• Consult with homeowners, real estate brokers, and Meridith Baer Account Executives to understand and meet staging requirements for each property
• Select furnishings that fit both the home's needs and the project budget
• Maintain knowledge of furniture sourcing and manage ordering and tracking of custom pieces
• Operate the FileMaker inventory system to track stock and maintain job pricing information
• Complete Designer Debrief forms after each installation, documenting any issues with setup, inventory concerns, or pieces requiring removal
• Support the sales team in closing furniture sales from staged homes
• Adapt installations to multiple aesthetic directions while maintaining design quality appropriate to each property and budget
• Execute work efficiently to control labor costs and minimize overtime expenses
• Respond to client feedback and broker requests to exceed expectations
• Travel as needed for job sites and warehouse work

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design (or equivalent professional experience), along with at least three years in real estate, staging, or design. The candidate must be personable and engaging, demonstrate determination and take initiative, and communicate with diplomacy and professionalism. Strong time management and project management abilities are essential, as is the capacity to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The designer must have excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams, be comfortable in both warehouse and home environments, and possess basic computer proficiency including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Photos, and Google Calendar.
