Studio M Staging is hiring a Home Staging Stylist (Part-Time) in San Leandro, CA. This role focuses on styling and designing homes using the company's existing inventory to create spaces that appeal to buyers. The position differs from interior design work, emphasizing hands-on styling and project execution alongside the team.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and style homes in alignment with their architectural character and target buyer demographics
- Select furniture, rugs, art, and accessories from the warehouse inventory to furnish each project
- Research and source additional items online, then prepare shopping lists for approval when warehouse stock is insufficient
- Develop detailed staging plans, room layouts, and design notes with reference images so the installation team can execute projects accurately
- Partner with the staging and warehouse teams to support smooth project delivery
- Manage all styling details, including built-in shelving and accent pieces
- Participate in property walkthroughs and provide design direction for upcoming jobs
- Offer paint consultation and light fixture recommendations as needed
Requirements and qualifications:
- Prior experience in visual merchandising, home styling, set design, or staging
- Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle many components within a single project
- Hands-on approach, solid organizational skills, and ability to work within tight deadlines
- Good understanding of proportion, scale, and color relationships
- Comfort using inventory management apps and related technology
- Flexible part-time availability based on project schedules
- Willingness to work on-site at the San Leandro warehouse for design prep and installations
- Ability to work on-site for property walkthroughs
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication abilities
- Capacity to work effectively across warehouse, staging, and operations teams
Preferred experience includes home staging or furniture rental industry background, or retail display styling experience with brands such as West Elm, Pottery Barn, or Anthropologie.
