Interior Designer (Mandarin, OPT Sponsorship Available)

Team Metric Inc is hiring an Interior Designer in San Jose, CA. This internship position offers potential conversion to full-time employment and is open to recent graduates and entry-level professionals, particularly those eligible for OPT sponsorship. The position requires relocation to the San Jose area and involves supporting the development team across all stages of project planning, execution, and delivery.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop interior design concepts for residential, commercial, and public spaces
• Create mood boards, material palettes, and renderings for client presentations
• Produce detailed drawings and specifications covering layouts, furnishings, fixtures, and fittings
• Plan and execute luxury home staging projects to enhance property marketability
• Select and arrange furniture, artwork, and accessories appropriate to each property's characteristics
• Oversee 2 to 6 installations per week, ensuring on-time and efficient completion
• Communicate with Mandarin and English-speaking clients to understand needs, preferences, and budget constraints
• Present design proposals and staging plans professionally

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline. Work experience in construction, project management, engineering, or architecture is preferred. Required qualifications include fluency in both Mandarin and English, proficiency with design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite, strong portfolio demonstrating design capability, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and organizational skills with an eye for color, texture, and detail. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; F1 and OPT visa holders are welcome, and H-1B sponsorship is available on a case-by-case basis.

The role pays $19 to $20 per hour and includes health insurance, dental insurance, and paid time off. Relocation to San Jose, CA 95131 is required before starting work, and the position is in-person.
