Interior Designer

Team Metric Inc is hiring an Interior Designer in San Jose, CA 95131. Since 2017, the company has served homeowners and investors across the San Francisco Bay area with a focus on real estate development, design, and home staging. This internship position offers the potential to transition into a full-time role.

The interior designer will support the development team throughout project planning, execution, and delivery. Work involves creating design concepts for residential, commercial, and public spaces, developing mood boards and material palettes, and producing detailed drawings and specifications for layouts, furnishings, fixtures, and fittings. The role includes planning and executing luxury home staging projects to showcase properties to potential buyers, selecting and arranging furniture and accessories based on each space's unique characteristics, and overseeing 2 to 6 installations each week. Communication with bilingual clients is essential to understand their needs, preferences, and budgets, with design proposals and staging plans presented in both Mandarin and English.

Required qualifications include the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field
• Current authorization to work in the U.S. (F1/OPT status acceptable; sponsorship available)
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English
• Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design skills and completed projects
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Solid organizational and project management skills
• Ability to understand and execute designs considering color, texture, and detail
• Recent graduate or entry-level professional status preferred
• Related work experience in construction, project management, engineering, or architecture fields preferred
• Ability to live within commutable distance of the San Jose office
