Peace of Mind Designs, a luxury staging and interior design company operating for more than 20 years, is hiring a Part-Time Logistics Driver/Mover in San Marcos, CA. The position supports the company's home staging operations throughout the north coast San Diego area by delivering and positioning furniture for property showcases.
The role involves operating company box trucks (16 Ft. FORD E350 and 26 Ft. HINO Diesel models), collaborating with the design team to stage homes, and handling furniture loading, unloading, and placement at staging locations. The driver works alongside stagers, designers, and professional movers to complete daily projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operate and maintain proficiency with 16 and 26 foot box trucks
- Load and unload furniture with careful attention to preventing damage
- Position furniture throughout homes according to design specifications
- Execute multiple job site visits in a single day, navigating to addresses using GPS technology
- Hang artwork as part of the staging process and perform minor patching and painting to address wall damage
- Maintain reliable on-time arrival at job sites
Required qualifications:
- Minimum three years of professional moving experience
- Valid California driver's license with a clean DMV record
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on flat ground and on stairs
- Good physical fitness, capable of standing throughout the workday and climbing 15-foot ladders
- Smart phone with unlimited texting plan and proficiency with Google Maps, Google Drive, StageForce Inventory App, Workforce, and similar applications
- Strong communication skills for professional interactions with customers and staff
- Capacity to follow complex daily schedules and verbal instructions
- Reliable personal transportation and current auto insurance
- Proper lifting technique knowledge to prevent injury
Additional qualifications that strengthen applications include experience driving a 10-foot trailer with a personal SUV or pickup truck and general handyman or repair experience.
This part-time position runs 20 to 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday with occasional weekend availability. Pay ranges from $22.00 to $25.00 per hour based on experience level. The company offers flexible scheduling, mileage reimbursement, paid sick time, and paid training. A negative drug test is required prior to employment.
