Vesta Home (dba Showroom Group) is hiring an Inventory Supervisor in Hayward, CA. This position operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and involves overseeing inventory operations across both day and evening shifts at the company's furniture warehouse facility.
The Inventory Supervisor manages the overall accuracy and organization of inventory, ensuring that system records align with physical stock on the floor. This person supervises a team of 15-20 hourly associates and serves as acting Warehouse Manager when needed. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Leading start-of-shift meetings focused on safety, priorities, and workflow
- Overseeing the safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks, trailers, and containers containing furniture and staging materials
- Supervising order selection, quality control, staging, and storage to maintain product organization and accessibility
- Conducting quality inspections on high-value furniture before dispatch
- Ensuring wrapping and padding meet company standards
- Monitoring compliance with standard operating procedures in inbound receipt, putaway, cycle counts, returns, and bin-level accuracy
- Training and cross-training associates to build operational flexibility
- Leading weekly safety meetings to reinforce accountability
- Supporting coaching and corrective action as directed by the Warehouse Manager
- Maintaining accurate system documentation of product movement and inspection
- Flagging inventory discrepancies to leadership
- Keeping work zones, staging areas, and loading docks clean and safe
- Reporting hazards, equipment issues, and workflow disruptions promptly
- Communicating staffing challenges and performance gaps to management
- Supporting process improvements and new workflow implementations
Candidates should have at least two years of warehouse leadership experience with direct team supervision. Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs is required. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and warehouse equipment is necessary. Proficiency with warehouse management systems, digital tracking tools, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office is essential. Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills are important.
Preferred qualifications include experience with furniture or large-format item quality control and staging preparation, familiarity with returns and physical inventory audits, and bilingual English-Spanish ability.
