About this role

DG Home Luxury Staging is hiring a Lead Home Stager / Lead Designer in Montebello, CA. This position is not a traditional interior design role; applicants must have a minimum of three years of professional home staging experience to be considered. The successful candidate will manage staging projects independently from initial consultation through installation, destaging, and final completion.

The position operates on a hybrid model, combining remote planning with in-person consultations, installations, and inventory management at the Los Angeles area location. Work is approximately 2 to 3 weekdays per week with potential for additional hours and possible growth to full-time status. The candidate should be highly organized, decisive, and capable of owning projects without constant supervision.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting in-home consultations with homeowners, real estate agents, and other clients to assess properties
  • Evaluating spaces and developing effective staging recommendations
  • Creating mood boards, furniture layouts, and staging concepts
  • Selecting furnishings, artwork, accessories, and décor from company inventory
  • Managing all project phases from initial consultation through installation, destaging, and completion
  • Coordinating schedules, inventory logistics, deliveries, installations, and overall project administration
  • Leading and directing movers, installers, and team members on job sites
  • Communicating project details and expectations clearly to installation crews
  • Styling properties to meet DG Home Luxury Staging standards
  • Managing inventory within the company's inventory-management system
  • Conducting in-person inventory verification as required
  • Confirming selected items are available, in good condition, and prepared for use
  • Identifying and reporting missing, damaged, or incorrectly recorded inventory items
  • Assisting with cleaning, preparation, organization, and proper storage of staging inventory
  • Ensuring returned inventory is logged, stored correctly, and updated in the system
  • Maintaining professional communication with clients before, during, and after projects
  • Independently resolving design, inventory, scheduling, and installation challenges
  • Keeping detailed project records, photos, selections, and documentation

Required qualifications include:

  • Minimum three years of professional home staging experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complete staging projects from consultation to completion
  • Strong capabilities in furniture placement, styling, space planning, and inventory selection
  • Experience directing movers or installation teams
  • Strong client communication and presentation abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • Ability to work independently and make confident decisions
  • Capability to juggle multiple concurrent projects, tight deadlines, and schedule changes
  • Weekday availability aligned with project and business requirements
  • Willingness to accommodate reasonable schedule changes and occasional urgent adjustments
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel independently across the Los Angeles area
  • Physical capability to lift, clean, move, prepare, and style décor and staging items
  • Comfort using inventory-management platforms, email, shared calendars, Canva, and comparable digital tools

Preferred experience includes staging luxury or high-end residential properties, familiarity with the Los Angeles real estate and home staging market, work with furniture inventory and warehouse operations, managing vendors or subcontractors, strong photography and visual-presentation abilities, and proficiency with Canva, Google Workspace, or similar tools.

Applicants with interior design background but no professional home staging experience will not be considered. Submission requirements include a resume, portfolio or website showcasing professional staging work, a brief statement of home staging and project-management experience, and current weekday availability. Applications lacking three years of relevant professional home staging experience and appropriate work samples will not be considered. The position offers a flexible schedule. DG Home Luxury Staging is an equal opportunity employer.
