Design Consultant

Scan Design of FL, LLC is hiring a Design Consultant for its North Miami Beach, FL location. Over 50 years, the company has established itself as Florida's premier high-end home furnishings destination, and this role combines sophisticated interior design expertise with consultative sales to guide clients from initial vision through final delivery.

The Design Consultant acts as both a brand ambassador and creative advisor, connecting Scan Design's global collection to each client's unique spaces and lifestyle. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients in-store and on-site to understand their design needs, aesthetic preferences, and budgets. The role involves creating detailed floor plans and layouts that illustrate how Scan Design pieces will function within a client's specific environment. Consultants select coordinating accessories, finishes, lighting, and rugs to achieve cohesive, polished interiors. This position manages the complete client experience from initial consultation through procurement and installation.

• Conduct sales consultations in-store and in-home to determine lifestyle needs, design preferences, and budget parameters
• Develop comprehensive space plans and floor layouts showing how products fit into clients' homes
• Select and coordinate accessories, finishes, lighting, and rugs to create unified interior designs
• Oversee projects from concept through final white-glove delivery
• Contribute to showroom visual merchandising and presentation

Successful candidates bring a proven background in high-end, relationship-driven sales within luxury retail, interior design, or real estate. Experience in interior design, home staging, or upscale retail is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to visualize and communicate sophisticated spatial solutions and multi-functional layouts. Professional proficiency with design software such as Floor Planner or AutoCAD is expected. Exceptional communication and professional presence are essential for representing the Scan Design brand.

The position requires availability during all showroom operating hours, including regular Saturday and Sunday shifts and promotional events during holiday and seasonal sales periods. The compensation structure combines a guaranteed draw against commissions, providing consistent cash flow as earnings grow.
