Inhabit Staging LLC is hiring a Designer/Home Stager in Rockville, MD. This luxury home staging company serves Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia, focusing on high-end, modern residential properties. The position combines design work, client communication, project execution, and hands-on staging throughout the DMV region. Some design tasks may be completed remotely, but staging and destaging work requires travel to properties across DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. The office is based in Rockville, Maryland.
The role involves close collaboration with the Creative Director on staging project design and execution. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing residential staging projects in partnership with the Creative Director
- Supporting the development and piloting of an interior design service portfolio
- Communicating directly with clients, realtors, and industry professionals
- Responding to client requests and providing design recommendations
- Creating estimates and project proposals
- Ensuring completed stages meet Inhabit's design standards
- Participating in on-site staging, destaging, and property measurements
- Styling furniture, artwork, accessories, and finishing touches
- Preparing homes for photography and market listing
- Maintaining staged spaces as needed, including light housekeeping tasks
- Assisting the staging and moving team with smaller items
The typical schedule runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an average of 40 hours per week annually, though this varies by season and project demands. Weekend work is rare but may occasionally be required. Staging and destaging involve active, physical work with significant time spent on feet moving throughout properties. Candidates must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license due to regular travel between properties.
Required qualifications and experience:
- 3 or more years of professional home staging or interior design experience
- Strong design judgment and careful attention to detail
- Client-facing experience
- Solid organizational and communication abilities
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and fast-changing conditions
- Proficiency with technology and quick learning of new systems
- Dependable, self-directed approach with initiative
- Physical capability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
- Fluent English
Preferred qualifications include 5 or more years of professional staging or design experience, experience with high-end residential clients, realtors, or developers, strong professional references, a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, and Spanish fluency.
