Staging Design DC is hiring a Driver and Mover in Beltsville, MD. The company handles home stagings, furniture installations, and upscale events including weddings, corporate functions, galas, and private celebrations throughout the DMV region. This role combines hands-on work with physical labor, teamwork, and mobility across different job sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Loading, transporting, unloading, and positioning furniture, décor items, rugs, artwork, and staging materials
- Assisting with staging and destaging of homes following designer layouts and instructions
- Supporting event setups and teardowns at residences, venues, and commercial locations
- Handling all items with particular care in luxury homes and high-end spaces
- Using moving blankets, plastic wrap, straps, and company procedures to protect furniture
- Adhering to company standards for packing, loading, transporting, and quality assurance
- Collaborating with designers, event coordinators, managers, and crew members
- Maintaining project timelines while sustaining professionalism
- Supporting warehouse operations including cleaning, organizing, restocking, minor repairs, and inventory tasks
- Operating 16 ft to 26 ft box trucks when qualified
- Using smartphone applications for scheduling, navigation, communication, and job tracking
Required qualifications and traits:
- Reliability and punctuality
- Physical capacity to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfort with physical labor
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Attentiveness to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Professional demeanor when interacting with clients, homeowners, and venue staff
- Basic smartphone and app proficiency
- U.S. work authorization
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (strongly preferred)
- Ability to commute to the Beltsville warehouse
- Fluency in English; Spanish fluency is a strong advantage
- Experience with box truck operation is a plus
- DOT card is a plus; the company may assist qualified applicants in obtaining one
Prior experience in moving, furniture delivery, event setup, warehouse work, logistics, furniture installation, home staging, or box truck driving strengthens an application. The position offers evening and night shifts with weekend availability required, along with Monday through Friday scheduling as needed.
Compensation includes $22 to $25 per hour, 401(k), dental coverage, health insurance, vision insurance, flexible scheduling, paid time off, and paid training.
