Warehouse Assistant

Staging Design DC is hiring a Warehouse Assistant in Beltsville, MD to support warehouse operations, furniture maintenance, organization, cleaning, and basic repairs. This position suits someone with warehouse experience who enjoys hands-on work, possesses basic knowledge of tools and furniture repair, and maintains high standards for cleanliness and organization.

The Warehouse Assistant's day-to-day responsibilities include the following:

• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe
• Organize and arrange furniture, rugs, pillows, accessories, and warehouse materials
• Clean furniture before and after deliveries, pickups, destages, and events
• Inspect returning furniture and document damage, stains, missing parts, or repair needs
• Perform basic furniture repairs such as tightening screws, fixing loose legs, replacing hardware, touching up minor scratches, and assisting with simple carpentry tasks
• Help assemble and disassemble furniture as needed
• Prepare furniture for upcoming deliveries, installations, pickups, and events
• Wrap, cover, and protect furniture for storage and transportation
• Assist with loading and unloading furniture when needed
• Support the warehouse team with daily tasks and special projects
• Follow safety procedures when handling furniture, tools, equipment, and warehouse materials
• Notify management of warehouse issues, damaged items, missing inventory, or safety concerns

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

• Basic knowledge of furniture repair, carpentry, handyman work, or general maintenance
• Comfort using basic tools such as drills, screwdrivers, hammers, measuring tape, pliers, clamps, glue, touch-up markers, and small hardware
• Ability to inspect furniture and identify damage, stains, missing parts, loose legs, broken hardware, scratches, and items needing repair
• Ability to perform basic repairs including tightening screws, replacing hardware, fixing loose legs, assembling furniture, touching up scratches, and assisting with small wood repairs
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse
• Strong attention to detail and ability to notice when furniture is dirty, damaged, misplaced, or not ready for use
• Reliability, punctuality, and responsibility
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks without constant supervision
• Ability to work as part of a team and support movers, warehouse staff, and operations when needed
• Proactive attitude and willingness to help in different warehouse areas
• Clear communication with management and ability to report issues
• Commitment to following safety procedures when handling furniture, tools, trucks, equipment, and warehouse materials
• Ability to wrap, cover, and protect furniture properly for storage and transportation
