The position involves safely operating various vehicles from the fleet, including 16-foot and 26-foot box trucks and sprinter vans, while adhering to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation regulations. Drivers load furniture and décor at the warehouse, secure items properly for transport, and deliver goods to customer locations on schedule. On-site, the driver arranges furniture to create polished, lived-in spaces per Vesta Home's design standards, hanging art and mirrors using appropriate tools and techniques. Daily communication with dispatch is essential to report progress and adapt to route changes. The driver also takes direction from on-site designers through the Delivery and Logistics Manager, escalating any issues that affect placement quality.
Warehouse and inventory responsibilities include performing daily vehicle inspections and reporting maintenance needs, using warehouse management systems and scanning devices to verify and track products during loading and unloading, and physically managing inventory. Drivers keep tools, hardware, and delivery supplies organized per manager specifications. They prepare furniture for delivery by cleaning each piece to pristine condition and assist in the warehouse with inventory management, order picking, product staging, and downloading departments as assigned.
The role requires proficiency in the DispatchTrack platform for route management and communication, photography skills to document installations before and after completion, and familiarity with warehouse management systems. Drivers use hand tools such as drills, hammers, and levels for assembly and installation tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Safely operate box trucks, sprinter vans, and other fleet vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and traffic laws
- Load and secure furniture and home décor at the warehouse
- Deliver and unload goods to residential and commercial locations within scheduled windows
- Arrange furniture on-site to create polished, lived-in appearances aligned with company standards
- Install wall décor including art and mirrors using proper tools and techniques
- Communicate with dispatch throughout the day regarding task progress and completion
- Follow dispatcher and on-site designer direction to ensure delivery routes are efficient and design standards are met
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs to the logistics supervisor
- Verify products using warehouse management systems and scanning devices
- Physically load and remove inventory while maintaining accurate records
- Organize tools, hardware, and delivery supplies as specified by management
- Clean and prepare furniture to pristine condition before delivery
- Interact professionally with customers to provide delivery updates, answer questions, and address concerns
- Represent the Vesta Home brand through courteous and customer-focused interactions
- Assist with warehouse tasks including inventory management, order picking, and product staging
- Contribute to collaborative team operations in both warehouse and field settings
- Perform download and cleaning department duties such as scanning items, unwrapping products, conducting quality inspections, applying protective coverings, and organizing inventory
- Take on additional duties as assigned by management
- Adapt to changes in delivery routes, schedules, and customer needs with a solution-focused approach
Required qualifications and skills:
- Valid, clean driver's license with appropriate endorsements for operating box trucks
- Proven experience driving box trucks and completing furniture delivery and setup work
- Physical capability to lift, move, and safely handle heavy furniture items
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations and road safety protocols
- Conversational English proficiency
- Strong attention to detail, especially when arranging furniture in homes
- Excellent time management to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining safety standards
- Strong communication skills for professional interactions with customers and internal teams
- Willingness to complete ongoing training in best practices
- Proficiency with the DispatchTrack platform
- Ability to photograph installations before and after for documentation purposes
- Skill in identifying and photographing questionable or damaged items
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and scanning devices
