House and Home Staging and Design is hiring an Assistant Stager in Mukilteo, WA. This contract position offers hands-on experience in the home staging industry for someone interested in interior design and learning how to transform residential spaces for the real estate market.
The position is as-needed with variable weekly hours (typically 5 to 30 hours per week) and no guaranteed minimum. Workload fluctuates based on project volume, with some weeks involving only inventory warehouse tasks and other weeks including 3 to 4 full staging or destaging projects. The standard schedule runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, though occasional flexibility on other weekdays is beneficial.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Assist with staging and destaging homes throughout the greater Seattle and Eastside area
- Help choose furniture, artwork, accessories, bedding, and decorative items for projects
- Style rooms and contribute to final design decisions
- Load, unload, and transport staging inventory between locations
- Organize and maintain the staging warehouse
- Prepare furniture and accessories ahead of upcoming projects
- Install artwork and assist with furniture arrangement
- Keep inventory clean, organized, and ready for use
- Learn the operational and logistical aspects of running a staging business
Required qualifications and attributes are as follows:
- Passion for interior design, home décor, and beautiful spaces
- Strong eye for proportion, color coordination, and spatial arrangement
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Comfort with hands-on, physical labor
- Ability to follow direction and independently identify tasks that need completion
- Organizational skills and careful handling of furniture and décor items
- Flexibility with a weekday-based schedule
- Physical capacity to lift approximately 50 pounds regularly and assist in moving heavier items with a team member
- Interest in learning professional staging and design methods
Professional staging experience is not required.
