Impressive Home Staging is hiring a Logistics Assistant in Virginia Beach, VA. This role goes beyond standard furniture moving, the position serves as an essential component in the company's mission to stage more than 300 vacant homes annually throughout Coastal Virginia. Primary responsibilities include safely operating a 20+ foot box truck throughout the Hampton Roads region while adhering to DOT and company safety standards. The role involves working alongside the Logistics Team Leader to coordinate daily loading, transportation, staging, and warehouse operations. Day-to-day tasks include carefully loading, transporting, and unloading furniture, artwork, rugs, and accessories while protecting inventory from damage. The position requires setting up and removing furnishings at residential properties, verifying inventory accuracy before departing the warehouse and upon arrival at each site, and packing and wrapping items for transport during staging and destaging operations.
Additional responsibilities span warehouse management, including receiving furniture deliveries, inspecting and documenting incoming inventory, proper storage, assembly and light refurbishment of furniture, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse space. The role involves routine truck inspections, helping maintain company vehicles through cleanliness and scheduled detailing, and assisting with inventory organization using company systems. Communication across the Sales Team, Home Stagers, Office Administration, and fellow Logistics team members is essential to ensure projects proceed smoothly. The position also requires promptly reporting incidents, damages, maintenance needs, or safety concerns, cross-training in inventory management and other operational functions, and performing other duties as needed.
Required qualifications include a valid driver's license with an excellent driving record, ability to safely lift and carry 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the day, and comfort with climbing rolling ladders and working in varying warehouse temperatures. Candidates must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, professional communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to follow established systems and checklists. Previous experience in moving, delivery, warehouse, logistics, or furniture handling is preferred, and previous customer service experience is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and Google Calendar is necessary. The ideal candidate will have reliable transportation to the Virginia Beach warehouse, be self-motivated and capable of working independently while maintaining productivity, possess strong organizational and time-management skills, and be able to adapt quickly, solve problems, and think ahead.
The schedule runs Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with additional hours available during busy seasons. Compensation includes competitive hourly pay between $20.00 and $23.00 based on experience and performance. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening, as well as a 90-day introductory period.
